Personal brand on LinkedIn

After years of building my personal brand on LinkedIn, the biggest lesson was:

Consistency beats cleverness.

If you want an unbeatable LinkedIn habit in 2026, treat it like a craft — with rules you never break.

Here are my non‑negotiables (a simple, stubborn checklist):

1) Verify every detail myself
Always check facts, titles, and dates personally. Small errors erode trust.

2) Use open sources: bios & pages
Cross‑check public profiles, company pages and official bios before posting.

3) Confirm roles, dates, links
A wrong link or timeline undermines credibility — don’t assume anything.

4) Treat AI as draft, not final
AI speeds writing. You still must humanize, fact‑check and edit.

5) Never outsource verification
Outsourcing content is fine; outsourcing the final fact‑check is not.

6) Take minutes to avoid errors
Pause before publishing. A 2‑minute check prevents big mistakes.

7) Publicly correct and learn
When you’re wrong, own it publicly. That builds trust faster than hiding it.

8) Reply to comments yourself
Engage directly. Replies build relationships; canned responses don’t.

9) Be the final editor on posts
If it goes out in your name, you approve it. No exceptions.

10) Protect your unique voice
Tools and templates help—your perspective is what people follow.

Be fast with tools, slow to trust. Use technology to scale, but guard the human parts that make you distinct.
